Ring in the holiday season at Downtown Greensboro Inc.’s (DGI) traditional Festival of Lights on Friday, December 6th as part of the Downtown in December festivities presented by Allegacy Federal Credit Union. This magical evening promises a delightful mix of live performances, delicious food, holiday shopping, a heartwarming community sing-along, and the highly anticipated tree lighting. Plus, enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

Kick Off Your Evening in LeBauer Park
  • 5:00 p.m.: Start your festivities with Piedmont Winterfest Ice-Skating and explore the LeBauer Park Vendor Market for unique holiday finds.

Main Event in Center City Park

  • 5:30 p.m.: The official Festival of Lights program begins with a stunning performance by Seasons Best Carolers.
  • 6:30 p.m.: Join the community for a spirited sing-along led by April Talbott and The Drew Hayes Five.
  • 6:56 p.m.: Gather for the highlight of the evening—the lighting of the community tree, a moment of pure holiday magic.

Stroll Along Elm Street
After the tree lighting, take a festive musical stroll along Elm Street, from Friendly Avenue to Lewis Street, and enjoy live performances by:

Traditional favorites like Mrs. Claus, Silver Drummer Girl, Snow Queen & King, and Superheroes will be strolling throughout the Festival footprint. 

New at this year’s Festival of Lights, visitors can attend a DJ Dancy Party in Hamburger Square and donate toys for Toys for Tots! On the festival footprint there will be a truck placed for toy donations for our community in partnership with Toys for Tots. We encourage the community to bring a toy and share the joy!
