Trick-or-Treat on Elm Street Returns to Downtown Greensboro Saturday, October 24
Nearly 30 downtown businesses hand out free candy and allergy-friendly treats as the downtown Halloween tradition enters its 11th year
Greensboro, NC — Downtown Greensboro Inc. (DGI) invites families to Trick-or-Treat on Elm Street on Saturday, October 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. Costumed kids and their grown-ups can stroll Elm Street, collect candy from nearly 30 participating downtown businesses and meet roaming characters along the way. The event is free and open to the public.
Throughout the afternoon, participating shops, restaurants, salons and breweries will hand out free candy while supplies last. Several businesses are also taking part in the Teal Pumpkin Project, offering non-candy alternatives for children with food allergies or health sensitivities so every child can join in the fun. Look for the teal pumpkin at participating storefronts.
Now in its 11th year, Trick-or-Treat on Elm Street began as the idea of Jennifer Graf, owner of Vintage to Vogue Boutique, who partnered with DGI to launch what has become one of downtown Greensboro's most popular family traditions. The event continues to be presented by Vintage to Vogue Boutique, Downtown Greensboro Inc. and participating downtown businesses.
"More than a decade ago, Jennifer Graf had a simple idea: give families a safe, fun place to trick-or-treat and let them discover the businesses that make downtown special," said Rob Overman, Interim President of Downtown Greensboro Inc. "That idea has grown into one of our favorite days on Elm Street. We are grateful to Jennifer and to every business that opens its doors each year to make downtown a place where every child belongs."
