“Given the overwhelming response from downtown businesses, we are excited to expand the Vibrancy Grant Program to directly support even more small businesses while elevating the appearance of downtown storefronts,” said Zack Matheny, President and CEO of Downtown Greensboro, Inc.
In July, Downtown Greensboro Incorporated (DGI) applied for and was awarded $25,000 by Duke Energy Foundation’s small business grant program to support retail shops, restaurants and other small businesses looking to expand, upgrade technology and improve downtown storefronts. In response to this grant award, DGI designed the Vibrancy Grant program to stimulate business growth and enhance the aesthetics of downtown storefronts.
Due to the enthusiastic interest from downtown businesses with more than 65 applications submitted, DGI decided to expand the program to double the impact of this valuable opportunity and build upon Duke Energy’s initial investment in our downtown community.
