Celebrate the Season with Festivals, Parades, Santa Visits, and More
Downtown Greensboro Inc. (DGI) is gearing up for Downtown in December filled with joy, community spirit, and festive activities presented by Allegacy Credit Union! This year's lineup includes something for everyone, from a dazzling festival and a festive parade to the lively Jingle Jog 5k race and visits with Santa himself. This fun-filled, family friendly holiday events designed to spread cheer and create lasting memories.

Festival of Lights – Friday, December 6th at 5:30 - 9:00 PM
The season kicks off with the Festival of Lights, featuring the annual tree lighting, live entertainment, and holiday activities. -
Greensboro Holiday Parade – Saturday, December 7th at 12:00 PM
The Holiday Parade returns with floats, marching bands, and special performances, culminating with an appearance by Santa Claus. -
Jingle Jog 5K – Sunday, Deceber 8th at 2:00 PM
Lace up your running shoes and join us for the Jingle Jog 5K, a fun and festive race through Downtown Greensboro. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking to enjoy the holiday cheer, this event is perfect for all ages and abilities. Sign up here. -
Santa at the Biltmore Hotel
Santa will be available for photos at the historic Biltmore Hotel on December 1, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, and 21. For a full schedule and new times click here.
Special features for 2024:
- The Festival of Lights will include a DJ Dance Party at Hamburger Square and Inflatable Merry Maze for non stop fun!
- A new partnership with Toys for Tots will feature a donation truck stationed downtown during the Festival of Lights and Holiday Parade for toy donations, encouraging the community to contribute new, unwrapped gifts for children in need.
- The Holiday Parade will also have a revised route, now traveling along Elm Street, offering a new viewing experience.
