Join the Greensboro History Museum for an evening of WWII history and personal reflections featuring authors Laura Bailey, Kaye Ackermann, and Reagan Steele. This special program focuses on the life of Vern Schmidt, a member of the Greatest Generation who recently passed away after 100 years well-lived. While Vern had every intention of joining us in Greensboro to share his stories firsthand, we gather now to honor his legacy and ensure his voice continues to be heard.

Hear the personal stories of service, sacrifice, and resilience that Vern entrusted to these authors as a firsthand witness to one of the most defining periods of the 20th century. Together, we will explore his remarkable journey and discover how this global history connects deeply with our Greensboro community.

A book signing and refreshments will follow the program.

Admission is free but seats are limited. Guests are encouraged to reserve online at greensborohistory.org/rsvp

This program is sponsored by Tri-State Steel.
