When Johnny’s fiancée, Annabelle Lee (Marion Mack), is accidentally carried away aboard a train stolen by Northern forces, he sets off in relentless pursuit—by foot, by handcar, and ultimately by locomotive. What follows is a breathtaking series of real, large-scale stunts and intricately choreographed comic set pieces that showcase Keaton’s boundless wit, physical precision, and fearless athleticism, securing the film’s place as one of the greatest achievements in comedy and early cinema.
