The Dave Fox Group is pleased to announce the release of their latest recording, “Odell Place.” This will be the fourth recording of the inventive jazz ensemble and, notably, the first to use sax instead of guitar for melodic sparring with Fox. Current members of the group are: Matt Kendrick, bass; Drew Hays, sax; Kassem Williams, drums; and Dave Fox, piano. Fox, Kendrick and Williams are a tight rhythmic unit having played weekly at Tates in Winton Salem for years while Hays is the newest member of the O.Henry Trio led by Fox every Thursday at the popular Cocktails and Jazz in the lobby of the O.Henry Hotel. The album was recorded at Benjy Johnsons’ Earthtones Studio in Greensboro.

Fox has a knack for turning out inventive recordings. In addition to the The Dave Fox Group catalogue he is probably most known for his two recordings for The Healing Blues Project, his rock-jazz group The Meldavians, and a recording with Eugene Chadbourne “The Foxbourne Chronicles.”

Opening the show for The Dave Fox Group is the popular songwriter Kristy Jackson, a “fantastic singer and songwriter whose voice captivates and connects on a deeply personal level.” (Lauren Light)
