Breathe & Rise, a community yoga event hosted by Rise and Flow and sponsored by Downtown Greensboro, Inc. (DGI) and Greensboro Downtown Parks, will be held June 30 at 6:15 p.m. in LeBauer Park in downtown Greensboro.

The event was developed by Rise and Flow’s owner, Stephany McMillan, to provide peace, rest and exploration for the Greensboro community.

"As the pandemic continues and protests for racial equality arise, mental illnesses such as anxiety, depression, fear and isolation become amplified,” says McMillan. “It is important to encourage a moment of pause and breath. This event was created to provide our entire community with solace, healing and togetherness.”

The free event has a limited number of tickets to comply with phase two of the North Carolina state reopening plan. There is also a virtual option to participate. Participants must bring their own yoga mat and hand towel. Water will be provided.

“Mental health continues to be an area of stigma throughout our nation,” says Stacy Calfo, Director of Marketing at DGI. “We are honored to partner with Rise and Flow during this unprecedented time in our history to encourage our community to begin the healing process from within. Our hope is that this leads to broader discussions about the importance of mental health resources for our entire community.”
