Celebrate Small Business Saturday by Shopping, Dining in Downtown Greensboro
Greensboro, N.C. – Downtown Greensboro, Inc. is encouraging residents and visitors to shop downtown on Small Business Saturday on November 25 to support local businesses and to get a jump start on holiday shopping.
“Statistics show that for every dollar spent in a local business, 70 cents stay in the community, compared to only 40 cents when shopping at a national chain,” said Zack Matheny, President & CEO of Downtown Greensboro, Inc. “Downtown Greensboro is local. We are home to more than 200 local retail shops, dining options and service businesses. We hope you will help support these businesses and the larger community by shopping local on Small Businesses Saturday, and throughout the year.”
Downtown Greensboro is home to a large and growing number of small businesses. Over the last year alone, 23 new local businesses have opened their doors in our city center, supported by more than 8.4 million visits to downtown. New businesses downtown include 13 restaurants and bars and 10 service and retail businesses.
Many retailers will be celebrating Small Business Saturday with special sales and extended shopping hours. Shoppers can take advantage of the Hopper Trolly, which will run downtown from 12:00 p.m. – midnight.
