Purpose & Scope

The Thrive35 Strategic Vision Plan is a comprehensive roadmap designed to strengthen Downtown Greensboro’s assets while shaping future growth and development. Building on previous planning efforts, this initiative will incorporate community input to create a bold, forward-thinking vision that reflects the center city's authentic character.

A key focus of the plan is to review past initiatives, identify remaining priority projects, and develop an economic justification for continued public investment in the downtown core. It will also explore opportunities to enhance connections with key economic anchors, including a hospital and four higher education institutions.

The final outcome will be a unified, market-driven implementation strategy that prioritizes transformative projects and aligns with local government and nonprofit economic development initiatives. This actionable plan will integrate seamlessly with Capital Improvement Program budgets, ensuring a clear path forward for downtown’s future.
